Preparation for Stitching

Once our design template comes out of the printer, it might be on several sheets. Align those sheets carefully and glue them together using clear tape.

Once the design sheets are taped together, we also need to tape our future edge cut of the design. Turn the design to its back side and roughly place tape along the cutting lines of the edge. The tape should overlap the edge line so that when you cut, you get a clean cut through both the paper and the tape. I prefer duct tape for this step.

If the design is large, I like to place a large cross of tape over the back before cutting. This helps the template last longer during the punching process.

With the tape in position, take a Stanley knife or scissors and cut the template precisely along its cutting lines. If you make a mistake, simply reinforce the back with more tape before correcting the cut.
